 he Norcan Touring GL is a "go
anywhere, do anything" sea kayak designed for paddlers 5'6" / 150 lbs. or more.
(Smaller paddlers should check out the Vector
Expedition). Fast in a sprint, efficient at touring speed, straight- tracking, and with good capacity for trips, it has immense primary stability. The Touring GL is a great boat who want to be able to paddle with more confidence in challenging conditions, and for those who like to relax, fish, or take photographs while in their kayak. An upswept bow & stern, moderate amount of rocker, and peaked fore-deck provide for a dry ride, solid performance in rough conditions, and a very classy looking kayak. The fish-form hull of the Touring GL provides additional control when putting the boat on edge as well as improved tracking. The hull flares above waterline, providing an additional measure of stability. The long deep cockpit is designed for taller paddlers -- and for those who prefer (or need) to be able to lift their knees while still seated in the boat. Despite the length of the cockpit, the well-positioned thigh braces provide solid control for edged turns, braces, and rolls. The Touring GL comes with two large fiberglass hatch covers, ergonomic seat, adjustable back band, recessed deck fittings, fore and aft deck cords, safety lines, carrying toggles, padded thigh braces, adjustable foot braces, and a rudder setup manufactured by Wilderness Systems.
