The Vector Expedition is a lightweight, high performance day & expedition boat specifically designed for small and medium-sized paddlers -- under 6' and 180 lbs. (Larger paddlers should check out the Touring GL.)

Unlike many kayaks of its length, this 15' sea kayak is not just a "shortened version of a longer boat." Rather, it is designed from scratch with the needs of the smaller paddler in mind. The Swede-form hull means this 22 inch beam kayak is narrow in front of the cockpit, allowing for an a relaxed and efficient paddle stroke. Swede-form is the fastest hull type -- and this enables paddlers of this boat to keep pace with bigger kayaks with longer waterlines.

The Vector's relatively short waterline and Swede-form hull make for a maneuverable kayak that has a light sporty feel. Course corrections are likewise easy to make.

The Vector's 22 inch beam provides solid stability for smaller paddlers. The low profile makes for a boat that is manageable in windy conditions. A relatively shallow cockpit (12" depth) provides a fit that is proportionally right for smaller paddlers and allows for the low angle paddle stroke that many paddlers prefer on long tours. Additionally, the low back deck allows the paddler to lay back for rolls and sculling.

Despite its 15' length and slender design, the Vector packs a surprising amount of gear. This boat carries good volume (Swede-form again) aft of the cockpit.

The Vector comes with two flush -mounted fiberglass hatch covers, recessed cockpit rim, ergonomic seat, adjustable back band, fore and aft deck cords, safety lines, carrying toggles, padded thigh braces, adjustable foot braces, and a rudder setup manufactured by Wilderness Systems.
