Onno Paddles -- Customer Comments

Everything you said it would be . . . "The paddle was everything you said it would be. My first impression (as was everyone who handled the paddle) was - "It is sooo light!". Going from an Aquabound Seaclude to this paddle was an incredible change. The Onno paddle was not only light but it was stiff as well. After lifting the paddle and feeling the light weight, I expected it to be slightly flexy. I'm 5'11" about 195lbs and I can drive the paddle hard on power strokes. I was surprised to find how firm the paddle was and it provided excellent feedback (a little stiffer than the Werner paddle I tried, which was a major plus).

"The mid tour blade accelerated nicely and there was no cavitation or flutter on my power strokes. Once underway, using the paddle was almost effortless. Bracing, ruddering and side pull strokes with the paddle were equally impressive. I haven't attempted any rolls yet as the water is too cold. So far, I am very impressed with my Onno paddle."

Heaven! "Got the paddle and took it for a ride on Lake Champlain today. Heaven! And you can quote me. Work is going to be a bit easier on the body this season."

Workmanship is exemplary "Here's the review I put up on Paddling.net: "After carefully considering the alternatives, I recently switched from the Werner Camano to the Onno Carbon-Carbon mid-tour paddle. The difference between 30 oz (Werner) and 16 oz (Onno) is incredible. (Note that the Werner Carbon is 10 oz heavier and $100 more expensive.)

"The Onno paddle is as if not more efficient in the water, with less flutter and, for some reason, a much smoother exit. High and low braces, skulling and sweep/draw strokes are easy. Haven't got a roll (it is on the agenda) but I can't imagine a paddle-related problem. Workmanship is exemplary. Service from Water Walker kayaks was great--also highly recommended. Rating: 10 of 10"
