The test
paddle is without a doubt the most important aspect of your search for your
ideal boat. During the test paddle you will want to check out the stability,
tracking, turning, and glide of the kayak as well as the comfort of the cockpit
and the overall feel. At Water Walker, we understand this, and we offer
flexibility in terms of time, location, and duration in order to make the test
paddle as useful and convenient as possible. Please call or e-mail us when you
are ready to set up a test paddle. Among the options we offer are: 1. Location: If you are coming from a distance, we can sometimes meet you part way in your direction. Ponds, lakes, and ocean are all possibilities. Much of our test paddling is done in beautiful Belfast Bay, which is less than 2 miles from our shop. 2. Time: We can be flexible depending on the distance you are travelling. Early morning and late afternoon test paddles are possible if needed to get around your work schedule. The test paddle itself may be take from 15 minutes to more than an hour hour, depending on conditions and your level of experience. 3. Equipment: We will provide a pfd, paddle, and spray skirt. Bring footwear for walking into the water and a set of dry clothes (just in case). |
