Belfast Area
Belfast Harbor Tour — custom tour
–Departs from Steamboat Landing in Belfast Harbor
–This 2-hour tour features a scenic harbor, a tidal river, and vistas of beautiful and historic Penobscot Bay.
May, June, July, and August, On request.
9:30 AM to 11:30 AM –or a time you request. Suited to beginner and intermediate paddlers. Launch from a beach near the town dock and paddle past tugboats and sailboats to explore beautiful Belfast Harbor. Depending on conditions paddle up the Passy River or out past Patterson Point and toward Moose Point State Park. $150.00 for up to 3 people (includes kayak, gear, guide service, instruction, snack, and digital photos). $50 per person for additional participants.

Penobscot Narrows Tour
–Departs from Frankfort Boat Launch on the Penobscot River
–This 3-hour tour features miles of scenic, undeveloped tidal river and abundant wildlife.

9:00 AM to 12 PM. Suited to beginner and intermediate paddlers. Launch from near the old granite piers in Frankfort. Cross the confluence of the Penobscot and Marsh, where the waters from these two rivers gently mix. Paddle the historic tidal section of the lower Penobscot River with its varied shorelines of cliffs, boulders, marsh grasses, and gravelly beaches. Watch for osprey, eagles, sea ducks, and seals. $60.00 per person (includes kayak, gear, guide service, instruction, snack, and digital photos). $10.00 discount if you have your own boat and gear.
Other possibilities include paddling around Sears Island, paddling to Fort Point Lighthouse, and paddling from Belfast to Bayside.
The Belfast area is at the northern end of Penobscot Bay. It features protected waters, picturesque shorelines, and gravelly beaches — and is ideal for beginning and intermediate paddlers.
