Health & Safety for Guided Activities 2020

In accordance with the State of Maine guidelines, we are doing everything we can to protect the health and safety of our clients. These measures include:

  • Our activities are 100 percent outdoors.  This increases the level of safety for all.
  • All provided gear, including boats, paddles, life jackets will be washed and sanitized between uses. Whenever possible, life jackets will also be rotated to allow three or more days between uses from one client to the next.
  • Six-feet social distancing will be maintained except in the case of emergency.
  • Masks will be used in instances where social distancing cannot be maintained.
  • Online payment via credit card is strongly encouraged.
  • Guests should plan to provide their own water bottles, sunscreen, insect repellent, food and snacks.
  • Hand sanitizer, cleaning products, and masks will be provided as needed.
  • Guests and guides who have any sign of illness will not be allowed to participate.
  • Guests will provide their own transportation, as needed.
  • Out-of-state clients (NH and VT residents excluded) are required to quarantine in Maine for 14 days or  have received a negative COVID-19 test before participating in a guided trip.
  • Overnight trips will not be offered in summer of 2020.  The possibility of multi-day trips with a mainland base camp and each guest/family being responsible for their own camp site is currently being considered.

Several of the above measures also relate to kayak and SUP rentals.  These include:

  • Drop off of boats and gear will take place outdoors.
  • All provided gear, including boats, paddles, life jackets will be washed and sanitized between uses. Whenever possible, life jackets will also be rotated to allow three or more days between uses.
  • Six-feet social distancing will be maintained during drop-off and pick up.
  • Masks will be used in rare instances where social distancing cannot be maintained.
  • Online payment via credit card is strongly encouraged.
  • Guides who have any sign of illness will not be allowed to handle or deliver any boats or gear.
